October Favourites & Beauty Buys

It’s probably time to review the things I’ve been loving for October, especially given we’re entering the second week of November! So my three favourites in each category are…

Beauty favourites

Innis Free Capsule Recipe Pack Aloe Sleeping pack – Slather it on, fall asleep, wake up, wash off and revel soft, hydrated skin.

John Frieda Frizz Ease 6 Effects Serum – Humidity here has played havoc with my hair for months, the thick nature of it hates the water. I read about this, tried it and it is ten times better, not perfect but not sure it could be in this level of humidity. Not Monica from Friends in Barbados anymore!

Essence The Gel Topcoat This is amazing. I had always used the Seche Vite topcoat until my friend recommended this. It is the same but cheaper. Dries nails quick, makes them last much longer and gives a brilliant shine.

Book favourites

As always I am loving reading. Got the usual 5+ books on the go, dipping in and out depending on my mood. So lots of books to talk about but these are my 3 faves, see the links for the reviews. Body Positive Power is too new, will review in November.

Ice Cream for Breakfast: How Rediscovering You Inner Child Can Make You Calmer, Happier, and Solve Your Bullsh*t Adult Problems  by Laura Jane Williams

Body Positive Power: How to stop dieting, make peace with your body and live By Megan Jayne Crabbe

The Vegan Cookbook by Adele McConnell

Food favourites

Making my own peanut butter because it’s better than the shop bought stuff and it doesn’t have nasty palm oil.

Laksa – when do I not love laksa! The spicy, comforting coconut broth with my favourite – noodles!

Veggie burgers, homemade and from KGB Burger  – Chloe’s Earth Burger rocks.

Music favourites

This month it’s mainly about the girls. Moments of mellow mixed with more upbeat funky tunes. I added in one of my Spotify daily lists, Spotify nailed it, those pesky algorithms.

Låpsley – I am obsessed with the voice, the sound and the songs. Love!

Jorja Smith – A stunning voice that reminds me of Janelle Monáe, a young Corrine Bailey Rae and Amy Winehouse.

Kesha– Another spectacular voice and lyrics that feel epic and of the moment.

New Beauty Buys

And finally what gems did I buy this month… Shock more Innis Free. Whilst I’m living here I figure I may as well enjoy the budget, but brilliant skin care. Oh and they give you freebies if you have a card – win win.

I also had a great time in Sephora. Buying 3CE  lip tint, and lusting over lots of other stylish makeup and the infamous BB cream. And the Fenty for the face papers, the foundation is on my list.

Kocostar Long hair pack  Kocostar actually do lots of great products but this is the one that was recommended to me.
