I was introduced to this amazing green juice at my favourite Indian restaurant, The Ganga Cafe. Big claim I know, but the food is excellent, home-grown and hasn’t got any nasty ingredients in it plus the people are lovely. It was on my first visit that it was recommended I try the pranic juice and from that first taste I was hooked. A spicy, fresh taste with a kick.
Prana is often associated with healing, prana meaning giving life force through breath, something I know a little about being a yogi. Just looking at the ingredients it’s obvious the juice is a provider of energy and cleansing. I adapted the original recipe to include a few green veggies to really pack in the nutrients. Iron is aplenty in this juice with the spinach and mint whilst the cumin aids digestion and boosts immunity. Lemon and ginger are well-known as aids in fighting colds whilst celery is a great antioxidant. Magnesium is also plentiful which aids in calmness, aiding anxiety and helping with sleep. All in all a good green juice that tastes delicious!
Ingredients
>prep time 5 min’s
(usual pranic juice ingredients)
- Inch of ginger
- 1 tsp toasted cumin seeds
- pinch salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 lemon squeezed
- 1 lime of 4 local Malaysian limes whole (remove pips)
- 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar
- a handful of fresh mint
- water and ice
(my additions)
- 1/2 stick celery
- handful of spinach
- a few stalks of coriander
Blend it all up and serve immediately, as with all green juice it can change colour when it oxidises!
